Ever Wonder What the BEST Fasting Protocol actually is?
If you search the google machine, you’ll find there is no shortage in options:
- 10:14
- 16:8
- 18:6
- 2MAD (Two Meals a Day)
- OMAD (One Meal a Day)
- Alternate Day Fasting
- 5:2 Weekly Fast
- 6:1 Weekly
- And a Prolonged Fast Spanning from 36hours and Beyond
But How do we know which one is BEST?
The Simple answer is…..We Don’t !
And that’s mainly for two reasons:
- We do not have any conclusive clinical trials in humans that identifies a minimum effective dose
- There is a very high likelihood that the “BEST” Fasting Protocol differs from person-to-person
All-in-All We know Fasting is GOOD….. We just don’t Know how to prescribe the truly optimal Protocol at the individual level…… YET…..
With all that, let me introduce you to “Cyclical Fasting” (or cycling through several strategic protocols) over the course of the year, and why it may be worth exploring.
