How Visceral Fat Accelerates Senescent Cells, Metabolic Syndrome and Aging
When it comes to the health and longevity of our pretty cool meat suit, one of the most under appreciated dynamics at play is momentum. And no, not the literal sense of the word in its physics term. We’re talking about momentum in its figurative sense, in particular when it comes to our cellular function.
As this very interesting phenomena applies BOTH to their prosperity and dysfunction. Let me explain….
When we put our cells in a position to operate efficiently, they have healthy mitochondria, less inflammation, reduced oxidative stress, less fat accumulation and ultimately less opportunity for bad things to happen, things that would lead to disease.
In other words, GOOD Healthy Momentum! However….
When we do the opposite, the biological situation shifts to one of chronic inflammation, stress, oxidation, fat accumulation and ultimately MORE dysfunction. Aka BAD Momentum.
A situation which may not be better highlighted than in the instance of Visceral Fat, Oxidative Stress and Cellular Senescence. Three biological happenings which just so happen to be strongly linked to accelerated aging. Knowing that, it probably makes sense to try and shift our momentum to efficient operations as much as possible, right?
