Is Improving Mitochondria Function a Secret to Fixing Obesity?
You would think that having more energy producing/burning organelles within your pretty cool meat suit, and specifically fat cells themselves, would be a good thing.
However, this biological phenomena seems to be a bit of a paradox. More mitochondria technically mean there is a greater potential to synthesize excess energy and keep a healthy balance intact. However, it fails to account for the function and efficiency of the mitochondria themselves.
I mean, what’s the benefit of having 3x the mitochondria when they’re all operating at 25% efficiency?
This seems to be the potential scenario at play across a vast majority of pretty cool meat suits(humans) who are blindly following the standard western lifestyle and it’s ultra-processed ways. That is, until they realize they can flip their metabolic script…
