Is Metabolic Dysfunction the REAL Cause of Depression?
Let’s start by pondering on some evolutionary theory regarding chronic depression that I stumbled upon a few years back……
It suggests that when the body is in a heighten immune system state, it wants to entice REST……… Down regulating it’s desire and energy to do other things….
Well, how exactly does it do this? And why does it Matter?
It becomes tired, lethargic, non-motivated, fatigued….. inducing a state of wakeful hibernation….
Sound familiar, kinda like a-lot of the symptoms of depression……?
But WHY is it doing this?
Well, the thought is, it’s giving the immune system priority to do it’s thing….
However, the Problems arise when we’re chronically inflamed due to metabolic dysfunction, physiological and environmental stressors….
And when that’s the case, we’re always in this state… this state of chronic depression!
Dammmmmmmmmmmm…. That’s deep
AND….. Again unproven theory…. But one that makes a hell of a lotta sense!
So with all this, how can we mitigate our depressive risk?
