More Bone More Longevity | The Secret Connection
We all remember singing the “bone song” in grade school, right? Entertainingly outlining how all of our bones inter-connect… A song which I now ironically cannot remember for the life of me….
Either way, despite that crash-course in connectivity, it provides little context around WHY our bones are so important in the first place, instead it’s just kinda implied….
They are our “structural self, the foundation which not-only makes-up us humans, but allow us humans to “Human”. That being said, just like so many other biological stories, it doesn’t stop there.
Research has displayed that the density and function of this tissue is ALSO associated with many of the diseases of Aging. With its deterioration being NOT just a byproduct of getting old, but a potential driver of it…
A Reverse-Uno card indeed…. And here’s the thing, our bone is constantly in flux, a flux which is regulated by the surrounding environment. Meaning if it is being sufficiently used every day, pulled-on by our muscle and provided the right nutrients, it will grow strong and stay strong!
But as we know, modern-day lifestyle norms tend to promote the opposite, ultimately manifesting a weak, feeble and chronically sick “self” by the time we enter our 6th & 7th decade of life….
Thus, why we’re diving into some ways to take back control of our structural self, and as a byproduct, our short-term health & long-term vitality… aka Longevity!
