Sperm Cyborgs being tested as Cancer Assassins
A biohybrid sperm microrobot might one day deliver anti-cancer drugs to tumors in the female reproductive tract, according to a new paper from Germany.
The sci-fi-sounding microbot, which was described in a December article in the journal ACS Nano, consists of sperm from a bull combined with a plastic, 3D-printed microstructure covered with an iron-based coating.
This coating allows the researchers to magnetically steer the robot to the target. Then, when the biohybrid bot hits the tumor, four arms on the microstructure automatically bend, releasing the sperm cell, which penetrates the cancer cells and delivers its medical cargo.
With all the dwindling natural resources in this world, I can tell you confidently that one of the few that’s on the rise is sperm. Its just a math thing, More People = More Sperm. Who knew that they could potentially be used as weapons of mass cancer destruction in the near future. Its almost as if one scientist was flipping through the channels one weekend and came across this scene:
Its literally the same exact idea but they will just control the little guys with a remote control. I kinda envision it like when Luke and the resistance blew up the Death Star. They had to weave, duck and dive in enemy territory, fire the proton torpedoes then guide them to the Main Reactor……..pretty much the same thing.
I mean think about how many of those white assassins we have at our disposal. You can stop thinking because the number is 525 billion over an average males lifetime. There are 3.7 billion males on planet earth, that gives us access to an army of just under 2 trillion squiggly soldiers. If Scientist are able to drive these cancer killing sperm through the human body like they say they can then it’ll be groundbreaking in the treatment of certain cancers (ovarian, cancer of the uterus, cervical). The advantage of being able to pinpoint “Cancer cells” is so important, in typical chemo or radiation treatment all cells are killed (good and bad). This begins to lead patients down a slippery slope, the immune system weakens opening up the possibility for viruses and bacteria to infect the body. Anyone who’s gone through it or been close to it has seen the weakness that overtakes a patients body. This “potential” treatment seems to have the ability to target the cancerous cells while letting the normal ones live in peace. Its still a long ways away but some very promising stuff.
