The BIG Longevity Problem with Ultra Processed Foods
In fact, MOST foods have been altered from their original form to make them more consumable for us humans. This goes for things such as organic produce, high quality meats, wild fish, grains, oils and seasonings… Which ultimately is a Good thing!
However, it’s when they go above and beyond processed, to “Ultra Processed”, where we begin to get ourselves into cellular trouble. These foods often hold NO resemblance to their original ingredients, and instead are loaded with additives, stripped of nutrients, abundant quick energy and metabolic stress.
Over time, increasing the odds, likelihood and probability of having problems within our biological business by creating an internal environment which promotes our cellular machinery to become dysfunctional… Yikes is right!
This has been seen to impact MANY systems from the composition and health of the microbiome, to the mission-critical function of our “Necessary for biological business” Mitochondria, and touching basically every tissue-type and organ system in-between.
Making it no surprise that modern science has established an association between these ultra processed foods and a higher odds, prevalence, and likelihood of disease….
