The Secret Microbiome That Protects You From Heart Disease
When someone refers to the “Trillions of Microorganisms” influencing the health and function of our body, the natural instinct is to focus on the Gut. The place 99% of the funding and discussion has been.
However, these microbes don’t limit their options when it comes to real estate on our body. In fact, they have vast populations inhabiting basically every non-100% internal area of our pretty cool meat suit. This includes all over the skin, parts of the lungs, the nasal cavity, and…. our mouth.
And just like in the Gut, these microbes are quite active in modulating the function of their local area while having a far reaching influence all throughout the body. A prime example being how the communities of bacteria living in the oral cavity regulate the function and longevity of the critical system we rely on to carry oxygen and nutrients across the body.
Oh, and in doing so, alters ones risk of this system becoming inflamed and diseased. Thus, if you have your vitality over time in mind, keeping your oral cavity (and microbes) happy and healthy, is probably a good idea.
Here’s how you can do just that….
