The Unlikely Way Fasting Fights Inflammation
Despite almost never thinking about it, there is ALOT going on inside you every single second of every single day. And I mean ALOT…. Stuff that allows you and me to not only read and write this, but also do everything else we do.
For example, at this very moment there are trillions of mitochondria in your cells synthesizing glucose and fatty acids into the cellular energy substrate (ATP), a process which if suddenly stoped, would turn off the lights in your biological business for good, within seconds.
Luckily, that’s a rare event. However, and ironically, the opposite happens to be a much more common and problematic situation in this modern age. The scenario of over-consumption, or creating a non-stop siege of energy which drives your mitochondria to become weak and leaky.
Leaky with unstable compounds called “Free Radicles” that slowly, yet steadily, create chaos within. The type of chaos which in todays scientific lingo is coined “Chronic Inflammation”. Or a low dose constant arousal of the immune system to the point it begins to damage your cellular self and accelerate disease.
Yikes is right…. However, what is caused by lifestyle, can also often be fixed by lifestyle. And THAT’S where strategies like “Strategic Meal Timing” come into play….
