Training For Longevity | Why You Should Start Today
It’s pretty clear that things “change” as we spend more time on this beautiful floating rock…
This change is an accepted part of life, happening whether we like it or not, across both the external world as well as our internal cellular and metabolic world…
But… just because change is inevitable, who says we can’t modulate it in a way that’s advantageous to us…?
THIS is the part where most people get tripped-up, their perception of “change” is often anchored to certain outcomes simply because that’s what happens to “most people” around them.
For example, the association of aging with becoming weak, feeble, cognitively impaired and in need for constant care…
Simply Because “that’s what happens when you get Old”
This is a belief that society has carved into each and every one of our perceptions since we we were young… But how much of this “Getting Old” is a result of biological programming and how much is a result of following societal lifestyle norms (i.e ultra processed diet, 24/7 eating habits, sedentary life, deprived sleep and disconnection from nature) that have become so abundant across the majority of the population?
I mean, wouldn’t it be likely that a society riddled with poor habits would also be riddled with poor health outcomes?
And if this logic holds…Maybe “change” doesn’t have to be “All that Bad” if we live a life grounded with habits that drive the mission statement of being as Functional as possible for as LONG as possible.
Maybe by “Training for Life” NOW, we will be the outlier in the statistics, thriving instead of declining, and getting the most out of our pretty cool meat suit till the very end…..
Sound interesting, But I bet you’re wondering how?
Well, everyone’s perfect protocol is likely different, but here are some ways I approach it…..
