I am not a professional – Thats why you should listen to me
Let’s start off and level-set here, I am not a nutritionist, doctor, certified fitness trainer or respected member of the scientific community. I am a common person (crazy right), an engineer by day and health guinea pig by night (ok, I guess by day too). Growing up in the nineties and 2000’s, my generation began losing a battle that they didn’t even know they were fighting. Food and lavish western lifestyle were the “not so obvious” center of all our lives. The countless cartoon characters welcoming us to their sugar kingdom, it was basically the only thing that could keep our scarce attention spans in check. While late night “adult” TV slung pharma ads to our equally interested parents. Just like that, western lifestyles were adapted, tastes acquired and poor nutrition was the norm.
I became more interested in my health in high school for one reason and one reason only, to kick my brothers’ ass. If it was sold in a vitamin shop or had one positive view online, then it was sure to be true, right? This is where the guinea pig comment from above comes into play. I found myself trying really hard to make beneficial decisions but all I did was fall into the strategic advertising webs of big businesses. I’ve tried numerous different fitness trends, supplements, diets, self-imposed rules, and crazy workouts all bringing me to this point today. Health has been a focused part of my life for the past 10 years and although the goal isn’t to dismantle my brother anymore, there is only one true model for success: Doing it your way.
I’ve got to the point today where I’m FINALLY beginning to see some real progress physically and mentally. How’d I get here? I did it my way and found the motivation to keep me moving forward every day. Your way is unique to you, a healthy lifestyle that’s sustainable long-term. Ultimately, it’s a commitment you need to make, but ill promise you this, We’ll keep you Moving.
