It’s Hard Work – To Work Hard
Its Hard Work to Work Hard
Thinks about this statement for a little, let it light up your brain as you try to decipher the code, its inner meaning. To me this sentence can also be presented the following way : “Working Hard is Hard Work”.
Working hard has always been an outspoken pillar to achieving any goal you set, whether it be personal, work, or group driven. All of your parents, coaches, mentors and bosses drive home the premise that you need to work hard to achieve your objective. Where we get into the weeds a little is in our definition of “working hard”, is it putting in the hours, staying in the office late, working smart, passion, discipline, grind, relentlessness? The correct answer is- it’s a combination of all the previous mentioned attributes…and then some, to add to this complex equation – bringing us back to high school algebra (shout out Mr Barry)- it also varies on the individual/group and their goals. To be quite honest it’s hard to put metrics and weights on the components of “working hard”, but it is blatantly obvious that is takes hard work to get there.
You don’t get participation trophies in the real world, no one cares if you fail, you have the gift of controlling your own destiny and with this little thing called the internet literally anything is possible. We have the privilege of unlimited knowledge in our palm 24/7 (I’ve made the assumption that everyone continues to tweet as they sleep), now the only thing that’s standing in your way is “You“. The mind is an amazingly complex structure with vast capabilities and computing power, but more often then not it votes to take the easy way out. It consistently plans and thinks big but pushes the actual actions to tomorrow, the conceptual part is always easy, its the big picture. You never really see ideas begin to materialize until you start the action of doing. Millions of idea are thrown around every day but only a fraction of those are ever acted upon and most of the time it’s due to self doubt and laziness. It’s the people who do the hard work of working hard that end up paving their own path. Put things in motions and just flow with it, there hasn’t been a successful person or company that hasn’t been challenged and faced doubt, let your haters hate and spend your time embracing your supporters.
Your world is an ongoing narrative of what your mind makes of it. I’m getting in my own head writing this as I realize all the thoughts I’m having are just a series of high power electrical and chemical reactions within a three pound mushy structure inside my skull.
The majority of people will live with the illusion that they are accomplishing things that matter but realize in the end that their accomplishing what society says matters. Put in the work to become self-aware and follow what you truly want to do. Its worth it, regret creeps up on you as you age and if your reading this your young enough to alter the script. Get your pen and start writing.
No one ever tells you that working hard is such hard work.
